Story
Nine candidates apply for a job and the management puts them a new kind of test. Invigilator (Jagapathi Babu) enters the room and gives them a question paper telling the requirement is for one candidate who will be selected based on his answer for the question. Apart from that he informs certain rules for the test and those who fail to follow the rules get eliminated. They need to complete the test by 90 minutes. He leaves the candidates in a room along with a watchman and locks it. Finally, the candidates realize that that there hasn’t been any question give. So, they need to find the right question first and answer it.

Performances:
Including Jagapathi Babu, there are just 11 characters in the film. Jagapathi Babu has done a cameo role and he did a good job. ‘Sakshi’ Swapna and Deepthi Vajpayee are the only convincing actors while the rest failed in delivering adequate performances.

Technical Analysis:
The budget involved for Key is less and the production values for such a budget film is good. Vijay did a fine job through background score. Vinada’s cinematography is the only asset while the editing for the film is pathetic. The director has come up with a novel story line, which should be applauded but he failed in the narration and execution. Such films require taut script but the key screenplay is unexciting and makes you bore.

Analysis:
Key takes off on a different note with an interesting storyline. However, the film slowly loses its grip as it progresses. The script was poorly handled and the director is to be blamed for this reason. The Thrill factor is completely missing instead makes you bore, though the run time is of only 90 minutes. Poor narration and execution, weak performances are the reasons for messing up interesting plot.

Final Verdict:
Unconvincing Experimental flick…

SouthMp3 Rating : 2/5
